7 Lips in 7 Days: Mac Twig...

Day 1
It's the return of 7 lips in 7 days and this time there is a bit of pre-planning and scheduling getting done. Last time i did this, i had intended to do them the day before each post was going up but i soon realised that that was not working and some days i just wasn't getting it done for whatever reason. So this time, i'm breaking it down and doing it in advance to get some decent quality posts that i think are actually worth reading, so hopefully these will get a bit better attention then they did last time.

Anyhow, onto the actual lipstick. This is probably one of the most worn ones in my collection as i absolutely adore it for an everyday nude. It is quite a deep nude, but this is what i generally prefer as i do have relatively dark pink lips, to the point of being red, so lighter nudes just look wrong and messy on me. This is, dare i say it a real 'Kylie Jenner' lip, with the purple and brown undertones but it is very flattering on lighter skins as well as the slightly darker toned skin as i have found.

The finish of Twig is a satin and this usually means that the lipstick is quite drying and uncomfortable to wear, not usually as bad as mattes, but still. But this one isn't too bad, like it isn't the best but it certainly isn't the worst. Satin's as well also tend to have a slight sheen to them, but not enough for me not to like them, but enough not to totally dry the lips out. It applies really evenly and is super opaque and does last on the lips for a pretty good length of time, but then when it does eventually start coming off, it does fade really nicely and isn't patchy and doesn't cling to dry patches.

Mac packaging is nothing new, so i won't bang on about that too much, but needless to say, i love it. There is something super satisfying seeing them all lined up in a stand, and i think they are definitely a luxury product. Of course, saying this, they do come with a luxury price and i wouldn't normally dream about paying that much for a lipstick, but the collector in me just longs for Mac and i would say that despite them being extortionate, i do get a lot of use out of the ones i do pick up. I wouldn't buy them if i didn't love them, lets just leave it at that.

Overall, i do love this lipstick, it is without a doubt one of my favourites and one of the few that if i lost, i'd repurchase. I know it's an expensive product and definitely not a budget buy but i do enjoy a splurge from time to time and if your going to buy an expensive product, i do think it should be something you can't get quite the same elsewhere, which this one is for me.

Thankyou so much guys, i'll be back tomorrow with some more lipstick posts and i'm also going to plan to get a few others up alongside so it's not too lipstick heavy, but lets not make any promises.

P.s. excuse the awkward selfie
