7 Lips in 7 Days: Maybelline Creamy Mattes "Divine Wine"

Day 5
Happy Halloween!
I'm sorry i've fallen a little behind with my posts, i had my assessment appointment with my doctor for my surgery yesterday and it all meant that everything got a bit late. But hey, I'm back and i'm going to get two posts up today so we're back on track.

This lipstick is one that i picked up out of interest of the hype from America, of course with their twenty shades available there, they are raved of and several bloggers i have read really rate them. So when they arrived here, i was really excited to give them a try and i picked up this one thinking i can't really go wrong with the colour as it's exactly up my street. I realised afterwards that it is a really great dupe (although it initially doesn't look like it in the bullet) for my all time favourite lipstick, Mac Diva. So if your looking for that shade and don't want to splash out on Mac, then there is a really nice dupe for the colour and the finish.
Since then, i got one of these bad boys for my birthday in the lighter red colour and i really like that one as well, so i can say with a bit of a pinch of salt, that they have definitely been pretty consistent so far.  And my first impressions are great.

The formula of these lipsticks is comparable to the Revlon Matte Balms in my opinion, although i think these might even be a tad creamier in consistency, and i would say that they don't last as long in my opinion. However, they are super comfortable for a matte lip and i would go as far to say that for me, they are even creamier then just an average normal lipstick. They apply really well and evenly and the colour is reasonably opaque, although i would say if you want a really striking deep colour that they do need building up a little. But i quite like this, as it means that you have a little bit of variation in the colour, depending on the day, the place and the occasion.

They do wear really evenly too, and don't deteriorate in any specific areas first. This of course means that even if you don't reapply, you don't have to worry too much about the lipstick leaving a horrible stain on the lips and looking messy. Like i said before, these aren't too long wearing and will need touching up, but wearing a liner does improve wear time, and i can live with this, especially if my lips are feeling particularly dry, like they are at the moment  and they can't quite cope with the Mac alternative.
I would say however for the record, that due to the super creamy nature of the lipsticks, they can  be a bit messy and do not set at all, meaning that they can be a bit smeary and on my lips, i can't say they actually bleed, but i could see the potentially to, so i would use a liner if you are using a darker shade such as this one.

I must say that this is one of my favourite lips for this time of year and i really enjoy darker shades and this one is definitely up there. I am really exited for more of the range to come over so i can try some more shades as there are definitely some nudes that i have been eyeing up that are available in America currently. I would recommend you try these out if you are after a matte formula that isn't going to dry your lips out, which is the struggle we all face at this time of year. They are priced at £6.99 which doesn't break the bank for a lip product like this and i think they are worth trying if you are in the market.

Thankyou for reading guys!

7 Lips in 7 Days: Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in '30'

Day 4
This lipstick is potentially one of my favourites ever. It was the first one i ever bought and i wore it to my prom two years ago. Since then, it's been a staple in my collection and i wear it so often as it's just a really gorgeous and flattering but somewhat unusual colour.
30 is a really pretty berry shade, that has a pink undertone to it, that means that although i reach for it more in autumn- winter, i can work it all year round. It's quite girly for those people who may not be fully comfortable going with a super vampy berry look for autumn.
The pigmentation with this lipstick is great and this holds true throughout the whole of the Kate collection. They all apply smoothly and evenly and i really like the feel of them on my lips. They don't slide around or dry my lips out and although there is a whole separate matte range, i'd say these as a range generally are semi-matte anyway, and as someone who has pretty much all of the Kate lipsticks, i think i am able to talk about the whole range pretty well.
I wouldn't say they last 8 hours how they say they do, but they definitely last well and when they do start to fade, it is very even and doesn't look messy. When you touch up, they don't go cakey and don't cling to dry patches on the lips as some lipsticks do. I also haven't found that they bleed at all, with or without a liner, and i can apply them very evenly round my lips quickly and easily.

For me, these lipsticks, especially this one, are like the baseline for comparison of other lipsticks so i see this as like a 'normal' lipstick, so i find it kind of hard to talk about. The line itself is huge with so many colours and it's still expanding. I've got around 24 of these and i know i still haven't got the full range, which i intend to over time.
The smell is something that is argued about a lot and is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it. I actually adore it, and it's probably one of my favourite scents in makeup that i have found. It's really hard to explain so i do recommend that you have a swatch and a sniff if you see them on your travels. Each to their own, but i do really love it!
My only only criticism, is that i WISH they had proper names, the numbers are okay, but i'd love them to have names to refer to properly. But it's such a tiny picky comment that has no impact on the quality of the product, i don't mind that much.

In all, these are really affordable, good quality lipsticks, that i can comfortably wear for long periods of time without bleeding or any sort of smudging. These are potentially one of my favourite lipstick lines from the drugstore and they are just consistently good. So if you are after a specific everyday colour for not that much money, i'd have a look at these as they are well worth a try at £5.49 each.

Thankyou for reading guys and I'll see you tomorrow with another lipstick post and maybe later on with a post on something a little different!

7 Lips in 7 Days: Rimmel Provocalips in 'Kiss Fatal'

Day 3
Good Morning lads and lasses, how are we all on this wet morning (or at least where i am)?
I realised after having the pictures taken of this lipstick for maybe about 3 months that they were all super blurry and a bit crap quality, but i didn't have time to retake them this morning after having a very busy day yesterday and not getting round to pre-blogging, although i'm probably going to write a couple now to get myself back into the rhythm of it all. So i'm sorry about that and although i debated leaving them out, i thought that they are better then nothing but i wouldn't take just these as law, definitely Google some better swatches then mine to get a better idea of the proper colour.

Okay so, this product is one of those that promises huge things and at '16 hour wear' claims, i was less then convinced to be honest. But i picked it up in Boots a while back after seeing and absolutely loving the colour thinking it was something that fitted into a gap in my collection colour wise. It's a beautiful grungy plum colour that applies really intensely and evenly and can be built up to a deeper plum if that is what the desired look is going for.

The formula is kind of strange, as it's in two sections. The colour is applied with the colour stick and this goes kind of tacky when first applied. When it does go tacky, you pop the 'lock and shine' step on top of the colour and it sets it to a subtle shiny lip in a bold colour. This then lasts for a really long time without need to top it up, i tend to reapply a little of the second step throughout the day as the lipstick itself does tend to dry out my lips a little and the lock and shine does tend to add some well needed moisture, so if you do try these, i'd keep that in mind.

The colour itself lasts a really long time, i can eat and drink and it still lasts pretty much all day, and looks just as fresh as it did when i first applied. If the colour does start to wear off, it can be reapplied in the areas that need it without looking at all cakey or flaky. However, the downside of these doing lasting so long of course, is that they are a real bitch to remove. It takes quite a lot of scrubbing which, depending on your lips can dry them out something chronic. But i actually find in a really weird sort of way, this seems to exfoliate my lips slightly and leave them soft and smooth, mad i know, but it's doing something that i like which lends in it's favour.

In all, i love these. They truly do last as well as they say they do, and they are actually pretty decent to wear, although you could argue them being a bit too dry. But as long-wearing liquid lipsticks go, i'm really happy with these and i do wear this one on a regular basis, if i want something to last all day. Writing this blog post has made me rediscover these little beauties and i'm pretty sure i'll be picking some more up next time i see a colour that takes my fancy.
These are available from anywhere that stocks Rimmel, which is Boots, Superdrug and most supermarkets etc etc, and they are priced at £6.99 which is a little more pricey for a Rimmel lipstick, but i think they are definitely worth the money if you are in the market for a product like this.

Thankyou for reading guys!

7 Lips in 7 Days: Makeup Revolution Salvation Lip Velvet in Rebel

Day 2
So you've probably heard me raving on about Makeup Revolution for such a long time now. And i do still love it, but as with any brand there are definitely hits and misses, and this one, unfortunately is a miss. I now have two of these and i speak for both in this post somewhat, so it's not just a one colour problem.

Both have the same downfalls and it's so disappointing as they are just such lovely colours and have so much potential to be great.

Let me start off with a positive. The colour is so beautiful, like a rich red, pink in a matte formula. But that's where the problem lies somewhat. It's kind of too matte. The formula is really dry and when you first apply it's really sticky, which makes it quite patchy to apply. The stickiness then dries very solidly to a matte finish, It's almost crusty. This then takes little to no time to start deteriorating starting in the middle of the lips and wearing outwards until you get that ugly lip- line thing left on your lips.

I feel i'm a pretty good judge of lipstick formula's as i have tried a lot, and i haven't actually found any lipsticks that are as drying and deteriorate as quickly as these. And my lips are in pretty good condition meaning that i've pretty much given them the best chance possible to perform.

Another thing i can't stand about these lipsticks is the smell. They smell pretty grim, and it's not the sort of scent you want to put all over your lips. Like if it was a really good product, i'd say i could deal with the scent for the product but i can't even say that about it.
It's a shame because when i picked them up i was expecting them to be very much like the other makeup revolution lip products in the similar packaging, the name escapes me, but i've got a couple of those that i really like and although they aren't a matte finish they are not exactly totally shiny. I thought these would just be the matte versions, which i guess they are, but they are not what i expected at all.

In all, i wouldn't recommend you pick these up unless your looking for a specific colour and don't mind the wear time being short, because they look great in the very short term, (look not feel) and the colour selection is appealing to me being dark, vampy colours. They are quite inexpensive too but for the same price you can pick up the other type of liquid lipstick from makeup revolution which i much prefer and would recommend over.

Thanks for reading guys and I'll be back tomorrow with day 3!

7 Lips in 7 Days: Mac Twig...

Day 1
It's the return of 7 lips in 7 days and this time there is a bit of pre-planning and scheduling getting done. Last time i did this, i had intended to do them the day before each post was going up but i soon realised that that was not working and some days i just wasn't getting it done for whatever reason. So this time, i'm breaking it down and doing it in advance to get some decent quality posts that i think are actually worth reading, so hopefully these will get a bit better attention then they did last time.

Anyhow, onto the actual lipstick. This is probably one of the most worn ones in my collection as i absolutely adore it for an everyday nude. It is quite a deep nude, but this is what i generally prefer as i do have relatively dark pink lips, to the point of being red, so lighter nudes just look wrong and messy on me. This is, dare i say it a real 'Kylie Jenner' lip, with the purple and brown undertones but it is very flattering on lighter skins as well as the slightly darker toned skin as i have found.

The finish of Twig is a satin and this usually means that the lipstick is quite drying and uncomfortable to wear, not usually as bad as mattes, but still. But this one isn't too bad, like it isn't the best but it certainly isn't the worst. Satin's as well also tend to have a slight sheen to them, but not enough for me not to like them, but enough not to totally dry the lips out. It applies really evenly and is super opaque and does last on the lips for a pretty good length of time, but then when it does eventually start coming off, it does fade really nicely and isn't patchy and doesn't cling to dry patches.

Mac packaging is nothing new, so i won't bang on about that too much, but needless to say, i love it. There is something super satisfying seeing them all lined up in a stand, and i think they are definitely a luxury product. Of course, saying this, they do come with a luxury price and i wouldn't normally dream about paying that much for a lipstick, but the collector in me just longs for Mac and i would say that despite them being extortionate, i do get a lot of use out of the ones i do pick up. I wouldn't buy them if i didn't love them, lets just leave it at that.

Overall, i do love this lipstick, it is without a doubt one of my favourites and one of the few that if i lost, i'd repurchase. I know it's an expensive product and definitely not a budget buy but i do enjoy a splurge from time to time and if your going to buy an expensive product, i do think it should be something you can't get quite the same elsewhere, which this one is for me.

Thankyou so much guys, i'll be back tomorrow with some more lipstick posts and i'm also going to plan to get a few others up alongside so it's not too lipstick heavy, but lets not make any promises.

Lush Lip Scrub...

This is one of my favourite skincare products, but it's one those things that kind of get overlooked. I use this every night and have done for the best part of a year since i picked this up and have barely even used half of the product.

Lush is classically a brand i really enjoy for skincare products and although the flavours and scents are a bit hit and miss for me personally, i have genuinely never found any lip product that i enjoy quite as much as this. And it works so so well. These Lip scrubs are something that i know people like me who love a matte lipstick need in their lives. They work wonders in terms of lip resurfacing and getting rid of any dry flakes without it hurting or leaving a nasty residue on the lips. The actual 'scrub' tastes really nice, which although i know your not supposed to love a lip product for as your not actually supposed to eat it, but at the end of the day, if it's going on your lips, you don't want it to taste bad. I believe there are other flavours of this, but i can tell you for a fact this one is sweet and tasty without being overpowering or tasting bitter. It also doesn't taste false, like it doesn't taste chemically or unnatural, which again is something highly appreciated in a lip product. Mine tastes a lot like mint chocolate which i must admit i really enjoy.

The scrub is not too harsh, it lasts a few moments on the lips and as you rub them together, it gently dissolves to leave your lips feeling smooth and comfortable and it means they are in much better condition to be able to apply a lip product, even if it one of those that extenuates flaws.  You also don't need a lot, a little goes a long way with this product and i just put a light dusting of this on my lips, rub them together for a couple of seconds until the crystals melt then pop a lip balm on and i'm good to go. And it's just the right amount of 'scrub'. It's not too harsh that it leaves my lips raw but its not too light that it does nothing. I have definitely seen a difference in my lip texture over time and i use this once or twice a day, sometimes more if my lips are taking a bit of a beating. This really seems to do something pretty great for my lips and it's just a staple in my makeup bag now.

I've also had this one for a really, really long time and although i was a little worried about the price at the time of buying it, i do not regret it in the slightest as it works really well and lasts such a long time.

And that's it really, there is not a lot to say about lip scrubs. I'd 100% repurchase this when it runs out, and they are definitely worth a look next time your in lush as they are really good quality for money. If your in the market for a really good lip scrub that does exactly what it says on the tin, this is the one i'd go for!

Thanks for reading,

Bourjois Healthy Balance...

I don't tend to switch out my powders that often but i picked this one up out of interest a couple of weeks ago when i had boots points burning a hole in my pocket. I like a matte finish from my makeup and i'd heard good things about this powder. I picked up the lightest shade they had, which is another change for me as i normally go for translucent powders just out of safety but this one is really a good light colour that adds just a tiny bit of depth to my makeup without looking cakey.

Bourjois is not a brand i have tried a lot from, but recently i've been finding that i am increasingly enjoying their base products specifically. I have a couple of other products i enjoy from the brand but this is the standout at the moment. The powder itself feels really silky and is really finely milled, and when it's being applied, it layers beautifully. With my skin, i can't wear really heavy powders designed for oil control as, with having dry skin, i'd end up with horrible flaky skin, but i do like something to set my base and to mattify slightly. This one is perfect for this as it's light enough to not leave me with super dry skin but just enough 'powder' to matte me down and set my powder, (which lasts a really long time as a result if you were wondering).

Another thing i love about this powder is the scent. I know that sounds ridiculous as powders normally are unscented and just smell like, you know, powder. But this one has a super light fruity scent that's subtle enough to be nice and fresh but heavy enough to smell amazing. I believe it smells similar to the healthy mix foundations as well, but i haven't tried them so i couldn't tell you, although they are on my to-try list as i've heard great things!

A criticism that i would mention however, is the colour range. I believe there are only four colours but the problem with this is, the lightest shade, 'Vanille' which i have, is a tiny bit too dark for me when I'm super pale. So for you pale guys and girls out there, this may be a bit of an issue, which is a shame as it's such a nice product. I would also say that i'm pretty sure that this powder does oxidise slightly and gets a little darker as the day goes on which is not the best thing but then, it's not all that much and i don't really think you can notice it unless you were 1. super super pale or 2. looking for it. But it's worth being aware of.

My skin is prone to breakouts and doesn't tend to like new products but i can safely say that my skin did not react badly at all to this powder, which is a surprise to be honest. And i do really enjoy it too. This is definitely now the powder i reach for on a day to day basis and it makes my skin feel lovely afterwards as it definitely takes down shine but doesn't affect my skin's dryness or breakouts.

I'd recommend this for drier girls like me, if you have oily skin, i don't know whether it'd be any good for oil control but despite this, all in all it's a really nice powder for day to day use. This powder is £9 which is a little more then i normally spend on a powder, but i do really enjoy it and i would repurchase this once it ran out but i may have to try a few more powders before i go running out for this again, purely because although it's really nice, it's still not totally perfect and if I'm paying a little more for it, i want it to be spot on. I'm also definitely trying some more bits and bobs from bourjois in the coming weeks as it's a brand that has only recently starting to interest me, but now i'm a bit into it, hopefully i'll find some more gems that i'll love!

Thanks for reading guys,

Garnier Ultimate Blends....

Okay so I'm not someone who is hugely into haircare and i don't usually rave about anything hair- related and as i'm not usually one to style it or do anything fancy with my hair, it's not something that i use a lot of products for. But a couple of weeks ago, i thought i'd try a different shampoo to the normal one's i pick up (usually the cheapest that claims the most), and went for a brand that classically, i know is pretty good for my hair. And for the money i paid for these, i think they have actually done something for my hair, and i've actually noticed a difference in how my hair looks, feels and styles. When i came to repurchase this product, i actually tried another which i like just as much and although they all smell slightly different and are focussed on different hair problems, i haven't found anything about them as of yet that i dislike.

The couple of products i have photographed are the ones that are now used up and they are the ones

that made me fall in love with them. This shampoo and conditioner are the 'Vanilla Milk and Papaya' variety and they are the ones aimed at helping people with 'mid-length hair with split ends' which is how i would describe mine, at least before i had my hair cut. First thing i noticed about both products is that they smell incredible. They are fruity but subtle and have a really light sweet smell that definitely lasts in my hair. Each 'flavour' smell different, and they all smell really lovely and fresh, i am now using the ho

ney flavour and that again is really lovely and light, and smells delicious.

The next thing i noticed about these shampoos in both i have tried, they lather up really well. I can't stand shampoo's that don't lather properly because 1. i can never tell if the soap is out of my hair and 2. it never actually feels clean to me if i can't physically feel the soap. I much enjoy a really lovely foamy shampoo which is exactly what this is. It foams up beautifully and i really feel as though it is nourishing and really cleaning my hair deeply. The conditioners are also really light and don't feel greasy at all, they make my hair feel silky without it making my actual hair feel gross.

Then when i'm out and am drying my hair, my hair feels so smooth it's ridiculous. My hair is really straight and quite heavy so when i wash it, i hate it to feel dragged down by product. It dries really well and just feels so amazing. I've also had compliments on how shiny my hair looks and how healthy my hair is as a result. It helps it blow dry smoothly and calms any fluffy bits i have.

In all, without banging on about what makes 'a good hair product', i really love these products and I'll definitely be repurchasing different varieties from the brand as soon as these run out. At the moment, they are super cheap in boots, i think half price, and i might pick a few up before the offer runs out. I like the fact that you can buy things specifically to suit your hair type, and it's sort of specialised to your hair issues.

Thanks for reading guys, i imagine the next post will be a birthday haul post as today is my birthday woo!

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro....

I'm recently going through the biggest eyeshadow obsession ever. I just can't resist a good palette or a different colour and I'm absolutely loving experimenting with colours at the moment. After being totally desperate to try the Lorac Pro Palette but obviously not being able to get my hands on it as we don't have them here in the UK, i was pretty happy when i saw this beauty from Makeup Revolution. I'd read reviews of this comparing it to the Lorac and all of them were saying how it wasn't as good quality blah blah blah. But hey, for the price difference and the sheer convenience of it, it was still worth trying out. And I'm so so glad i did. I've even gone back in the meantime and picked up the Pro 2 i was that impressed!

Pictures: Pro 1 Palette + Swatches

These palettes have 16 shades each, 8 shimmers and 8 mattes and i think it has every everyday look you could possibly want between them.    The colours are really pigmented and have a lot of payoff with just one swipe plus I've found that despite this, they really aren't that powdery and really don't have a lot of fall down. I usually use a primer with any eyeshadow and i barely get any fall down at all, even with the shimmery shades and when i go without a primer, they don't crease or smudge and last a really long time in all.
These shadows apply beautifully with pretty much any brush, i've not noticed that synthetic or real hairs make any difference and even with the paler colour, one layer of colour is super opaque and gives lots of payoff. These are also pretty good shadows for blending. Don't get me wrong, I've definitely used creamier shadows that blend better then these, but for the price and the consistency throughout the palette, I'm really happy with them.

Drugstore Palettes are often nothing to shout about, the mono shadows are usually so much better quality and are much more worth the money then the usual palettes from MUA for example. But i've found that the palettes from MUR are just consistently excellent quality for the money and look so much more expensive on the eyes and in the palette itself. The packaging itself is just amazing, like i don't think i've found a packaging i like as much in quite a while. And they're just so simple. It's like this gorgeous matte, smooth, sleek black packaging that's so thin and portable you can take it anywhere with you. It's also really lightweight and has a really nice colour naming system inside which shows you exactly what colour your using for reference. On an everyday basis, i like to use Luna from the Pro 1 palette all over my lid as a base, Fade as my transition and either drama or afflicted in the crease dependent on how deep i want my look. If I'm feeling extra fancy, i'll pop a little of one of the shimmers over the centre of my lid which just looks so subtley pretty. In the Pro 2 i like to use Grey Day in my crease for a really smokey look.

Pictures: Pro 2 Palette + Swatches

If i had to chose just one of these palette's i'd definitely recommend the 1 as i feel like there is a better selection of colours as there is such a contrast in the 2 which is nice but i feel like if it's your only palette, you'd need to buy some deep warm colours to go alongside, but this is just personal preference as i definitely prefer a warmer smokey eye on me, rather then a more taupe, grey look.
The Palette also comes with a cute little double ended brush, which is unusual for a cheap brand, it's normally the little rubbish foam applicator that never get used for me. And it's not that bad. It's soft and has a bit of density to blend with and is really nice for laying down colour and it's actually one of the few palette extras that is worth having and can be used. So if that's particularly interesting to you, you do get a half decent little brush with the set.

Now onto the best bit, the price. Makeup Revolution are one of the cheaper lines in the drugstore and i love it as it's just so damn cheap and the products are just so good. This palette full price is £6.99 and for 16 really highly pigmented shadows, this is just amazing. They are both available from Superdrug in the UK and they are worth checking out if you get the chance!
If i lost these tomorrow, i'd definitely run out and get them both again, i need them both although many people wouldn't as they are different enough, but not a huge contrasting difference. I do love them a lot though but I'll let you make up your own mind on these :)

Thankyou so much guys!

Maybelline Lumi Touch....

When i first heard of that craze for 'highlighter/ concealer pens' which was of course started off by the infamous YSL Touche Eclat, it really wasn't something that appealed to me. I like quite a lot of coverage from my concealers and i really can't be bothered dealing with having to apply two layers of something to cover my dark circles. I'd rather just pop something under my eyes that was a little paler for my skin, so it acted like a highlighter but has decent coverage.

This product was actually something i picked up because it was on offer and i thought i should probably give at least one a shot. And after trying a couple more since including a Bourjois one, i can definitely say this is my favourite and as I'm running dangerously close to running out, i will definitely repurchase at full price.

There isn't a lot to say about these sort of products; it does what it says on the tin. This product does have coverage that i really like, it's super creamy and blends really nicely into the skin but isn't too watery to make it patchy so it does cover pretty well. It doesn't need building up and i haven't found that its heavy enough to fall into fine lines, which we all undoubtedly have.
The highlighter properties in this are really lovely for me. It's definitely not glittery but just gives a really subtle glow to the undereyes and anywhere it is applied. It just lifts and corrects without looking over the top, and just gives you that 'awake' look even when you haven't slept and feel pretty grim (tried and tested). Just a warning however, if your planning to use this as a highlighter alone, this won't give you that super glowy look that a lot of people like, but for under my eyes, this is pretty much the perfect amount of light for me.

And as these products go, this is not too pricey. Maybelline obviously isn't a super cheap makeup line but again, it's probably middle of the road within the drugstore. And I've found that the products i have tried from them have generally been pretty consistently good. Concealer is one of those things i don't try a lot of because they tend to be a little more expensive and each tube lasts a long time. But this, i really do enjoy and am glad i tried this and stepped out of my comfort zone. I do only use this under my eyes and occasionally round my nose when i need a bit of extra coverage because you don't really want to highlight imperfections.
This concealer thing has lasted me a really long time too, and i use it quite liberally, so i think it's worth the money spent on it and the packaging might not be as amazing as some of the others available but the product inside is one of my favourites of the moment so to be honest i don't care.

So in all, i'd defiantly try a couple of these if you have the opportunity because i don't think it is a one size fits all situation with these sorts of products and i think with a little look around, you might find something suitable for your skin and your preferences. This experience has made me a little more curious to try the Touche Eclat but i don't know if i can justify the price for curiosity.

Thanks for reading guys, i'm trying really hard to get a little more consistency in my blogging because i'm really enjoying it at the moment but i don't have a lot of time and am super busy all the time.

Maybelline Lash Sensational...

I'm really fussy with mascara and there isn't many that i actually really enjoy using. This one however, is very different for me. I personally think that with mascara, very little is down to the actual formula, what makes one mascara different to another is wholly the wand. And it definitely is not a one size fits all when it comes to what works for each person.

This one i picked up when another blogger brought it to my attention and raved about it.I've been using this for quite a while now and i must admit i don't use it every day but i would if the reasons i am going to talk about in a minute weren't a problem. And i don't know how it does it but it makes my lashes look amazing. I have pretty crappy lashes as they go and after just a couple of layers of this, my lashes look longer and more defined and blacker then black, but i expect nothing less from a 'Ultra Black' version of a mascara. I don't find it to be clumpy and it separates really nicely.

The applicator is a plastic wand rather then the fibre bristley wand (I'm sure you understand what i mean) which is the one i usually go for, and that does normally do something pretty decent to my lashes, regardless of the brand or the claims on the packaging. It is a little different then the other types i have tried in the past as it is curved rather then the generic straight wand, which personally i don't have a huge problem with, but for some people i can see it making the application a little more messy as you do have to be extra careful to stop yourself blobbing your mascara on your eyelid or under eye. It does however, work really well at really curling your lashes and for someone who has super straight and pointy lashes to say, that really says something about the mascara.

Now onto the niggles. This mascara is a really great product and it makes your lashes look amazing during the day but oh my god, it's so difficult to remove. I can use cleanser after cleanser, scrub with makeup wipes, literally use up half a bottle of micellar water and still, in the morning i will wake up looking like a panda. It has great lasting power granted, it's not going to flake off on a night out but damn this stuff is difficult to remove. It dries like glue and i can literally pull lashes out trying to remove this stuff, which is never great. But, if you are the sort of person that can deal with removing mascara well, i hear benefit they're real is a real bitch to remove too, so if you can deal with that, that you'll love this. I wear it when i'm going to be out all day or when it' raining and although this is waterproof, i have never found an issue with this coming off.

This is actually my favourite mascara of the moment(closely followed by an NYC one i tried for my twenty pound makeup challenge and still LOVE)and i would recommend this for a long wearing mascara choice. I love the finish it gives and it's worth a go if you are in a similar situation to me with your lashes. Maybelline mascara's are generally pretty good and have one for everyone, so i'd recommend you had a look at the brushes before picking one up, because they make some really awesome mascaras with wands that you might like more then this if this doesn't look for you.

Thankyou so much guys, It's my 18th next week so i'll probably have a birthday haul depending on what i get, so look out for that.
And for those who are wondering, I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST!!!

Love, Jo x
